§ Mrs. ChalkerFollowing the abolition of the GLC we shall wish to consider in strategic terms the needs of some of the main corridors that serve London, bearing carefully in mind the interests of the communities affected. Where individual schemes are justified on their own merits and we are satisfied that they are consistent with our broad approach, we shall continue to be prepared to promote them separately.
