HC Deb 27 February 1984 vol 55 c50W
Mr. Ernie Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what number and percentage of children receiving full-time nursery education receive school meals in Scotland and in each education authority area.

Mr. Allan Stewart

The school meals census does not differentiate between full-time nursery pupils and part-time nursery pupils. The number and percentage of nursery school pupils in Scotland taking school meals in January 1983, the last date for which information is at present available, was as follows:

Borders 1 0.3
Central 138 8.00
Dumfries and Galloway 94 37.9
Fife 273 9.00
Grampian 209 10.4

Lothian 833 13.8
Strathclyde 1,262 9.4
Tayside 408 21.2
