HC Deb 27 February 1984 vol 55 c18W
Mr. Warren

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will review the lines originally proposed by the East Sussex county council for a bypass of the town of Rye in order to avoid pre-empting the possibility of the use of any of these routes by the earlier selection of a route for a bypass of the town of Winchelsea.

4. Mrs. Chalker

Yes. The work resulting from earlier investigations carried out by East Sussex county council on the Department's behalf in order to establish the feasibility of a bypass for Rye, has been made available to our consultants for the purpose of their further studies of the proposed Rye and Winchelsea bypasses.
