§ Mr. Warrenasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will review the lines originally proposed by the East Sussex county council for a bypass of the town of Rye in order to avoid pre-empting the possibility of the use of any of these routes by the earlier selection of a route for a bypass of the town of Winchelsea.

The work resulting from earlier investigations carried out by East Sussex county council on the Department's behalf in order to establish the feasibility of a bypass for Rye, has been made available to our consultants for the purpose of their further studies of the proposed Rye and Winchelsea bypasses.
