HC Deb 27 February 1984 vol 55 c25W
Mr. Charles Morrison

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received from parents, and the number thereof over the last three years, concerning the present concession whereby three children under 15 years are allowed to occupy a double seat on a bus or a coach.

Mrs. Chalker

Over the last three years I have received seven representations at the Department of Transport from parents that school buses are being overcrowded and overloaded because of this concession. Other representations have been made to traffic area offices. Discussions about any change are still continuing, as indicated to my hon. Friend the Member for Torridge and Devon, West (Sir P. Mills) on 14 February 1984.—[Vol. 54, c.113.]
