HC Deb 24 February 1984 vol 54 cc650-1W
Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether the Health and Safety Executive has investigated the attack on Mr. Kenneth Dormer by a Friesian bull while he was walking on a public footpath near Bolington cross, Prestbury, Cheshire; and what action it is taking.

Mr. Gummer

I was sorry to learn of the attack on Mr. Dormer. The incident is being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive. It is liaising with the police, who are considering preferring charges against the farmer under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

The bull in question has since been destroyed.
