HC Deb 23 February 1984 vol 54 c635W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give the annual figure for single payment awards made by each Department of Health and Social Security office in the United Kingdom for the most recent date; what this represents on a proportional basis for the population served for each office; and how it compares with the equivalent figure for the preceding two years.

Dr. Boyson

[pursuant to his reply, 23 January 1984, c. 437]: Figures for single payment awards made by all local offices over the last three years could be compiled only at a disproportionate cost. However, I have arranged for the appropriate figures for the latest available month, December 1983, to be collated, and a set of tables has been placed in the Library. A comparison with population served by each local office is not available. The tables show single payment awards as a percentage of cases in action at the latest available date (August 1983).
