HC Deb 22 February 1984 vol 54 c529W
Mr. Hunter

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will arrange for the annual reports made to his Department by chief constables of police to be prepared in such a manner as to make practicable consolidation of information on the topics dealt with in these reports and to ease the making of comparisons between police areas.

Mr. Hurd

Chief constables' annual reports are made to their police authorities in the first instance and the precise form is a matter for local decision. Certain information about both individual forces and particular topics is published in the annual reports of HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary.
