HC Deb 22 February 1984 vol 54 c530W
Mr. Cohen

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many of the police flats in Ryder court, Church road, Leyton, are currently empty; what proportion that is of the total number of flats in the court; what is the average period of time that the currently empty flats have been vacant; what is the longest time a flat has been empty; and whether there are any proposals to obtain near full occupancy.

Mr. Hurd

I understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that the flats have been vacated gradually since February 1982, and all 23 have been empty since last October. Negotiations are in progress for their sale by the Metropolitan police to a housing association.
