asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what recent representations he has received regarding the tax allowance for clothes considered essential for employment; and if he will make a statement.

In the last 12 months Treasury Ministers have received eight letters on this subject from right hon. and hon. Members and two from members of the public asking for additional relief in individual cases.
