§ Mr. Peter MorrisonIt is estimated that in 1983–84, 28,400 trainees will start courses under the training opportunities scheme in skillcentres, and 42,100 in colleges. Some 9,800 skillcentre places and 17,600 college places were filled at the end of January.
The planned provision under this scheme in 1984–85 is for 25,000 trainees to start courses in skillcentres and 45,100 at colleges.
