HC Deb 21 February 1984 vol 54 c470W
66. Mr. Key

asked the Secretary of State for Employment by what methods the future requirements for appropriately skilled people in British industry are taken into account in the planning of Government training measures; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Morrison

The Government's training measures, both for young people and for adults, are planned on the basis of an assessment of local needs by the Manpower Services Commission in consultation with local employers, education authorities, jobcentres and the careers service, checked in total against national trends.
