§ Mr. Heddleasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many applications he has received to serve disposal notices on local authorities under the powers given him by the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980; and how many disposal notices he has served.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneApplications as such are not a prerequisite to the use of the power of direction to dispose of land registered under the Act. My right hon. Friend is prepared to exercise that power whenever circumstances warrant it. So far he has not found it necessary to do so.
