§ Mr. LeeIn addition to research and development work, trials are undertaken on the Cardigan bay range in order to train service personnel in the use of certain weapons systems. The numbers of such trials undertaken since the 1978–79 financial year are as follows:
Year Number 1978–79 134 1979–80 141 1980–81 114 1981–82 118 1982–83 84 The great majority of these trials were undertaken to provide training for United Kingdom service personnel. However, a small number provided training for personnel of the armed forces of Argentina, Singapore, Switzerland and USA.
