HC Deb 21 February 1984 vol 54 c445W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will collect information about the effect of the reduction of the higher rates of income tax on the provision of benefits in kind.

Mr. Moore

A good deal of information about the provision of benefits in kind, especially those that are subject to tax, is already collected. It is riot, however, possible to estimate how far changes in the behaviour of employers and employees are attributable to particular Government policies rather than to other factors.
