[pursuant to the reply, 17 January 1984, c. 190]Figures for motor cycles involved in accidents are more readily available than accidents involving motor cyclists, which could only be extracted at disproportionate cost.

[pursuant to her reply, 17 February 1984, c. 342]The latest figure for motor cycles (excluding mopeds and scooters) involved in accidents in Great Britain is that for July to September 1983: provisionally 14,775. Information for the rest of the year will be published in early April.
