§ Mr. Chopeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment which local authorities in England have not yet published annual reports and financial statements for the financial year 1982–83 in accordance with the code of practice under part two of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980.
§ Mr. WaldegraveTo date the Department has received copies of annual reports for 1982–83 from some 290 authorities, and has been promised reports, when finalised, from a further 13. Reports are, however, still being received from authorities in response to a reminder414W letter sent out by the Department last month. The Department is aware so far of only 3 authorities which do not intend to issue a report. Not all of the reports so far received comply fully with the agreed code of practice.
