§ Mr. Chris PattenThe number of children and young people in the care of health and social services boards in Northern Ireland at 31 December 1981 was 2,584. In addition at that date, 66 children and young people were the subject of training school orders made by the juvenile courts under section 95 of the Children and Young Persons Act (NI) 1968.
