§ Mr. Steelasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he plans to publish the salmon and sea trout catch statistics for the whole of Scotland for the period 1952 to 1981, inclusive, giving details of the balance of the Scottish rivers, in the same form as is employed in his Department's publications relating only to the East, North East, Moray Firth and Solway regions; if he will publish 349W annually the statistics stipulated in the Salmon and Fresh Water Fisheries (Protection) (Scotland) Act 1951 in this form; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. George YoungerMy Department published in August 1983 detailed statistics on salmon, grilse and sea trout catches between 1952–81 in four of the 11 statistical regions into which Scotland has been divided for this purpose. This was the first time these figures have been generally available in such detail. A volume for the other regions will be published shortly. Catch statistics in respect of later years will be published in similar form.
