HC Deb 17 February 1984 vol 54 cc353-4W
Mr. Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when a reply can be expected to the letter of 24 October 1983 on behalf of Mr. J. Hendry, 119 Victoria Road, Dundee, sent to him by the hon. Member for Dundee, East, referred by him on 7 November 1983 to the Scottish Office and returned to him by the Scottish Office on 17 November 1983 as the matter was stated to be his responsibility; and if he will give an explanation for the delay.

Mr. Newton

I wrote to the hon. Member on 16 February. I regret that the delay is the result of an oversight.

Mr. Ashton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why Mrs Susan Allen of Warsop has not had the outcome of the appeal following her complaint to the Nottinghamshire family practitioner committee which was promised in a letter to the hon. Member for Bassetlaw on 23 August 1983 by the Under-Secretary of State, reference PO(4)40/8/15.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

All the processes allowed under regulations were invoked in this case including an extension of the time limit in which to lodge the appeal and an oral hearing and they have taken time to complete. The parties will be informed of the decision very shortly.
