HC Deb 16 February 1984 vol 54 c330W
Mr. Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received about the value of pensions awarded to Falklands war widows compared with those awarded to widows of service men killed in the first and second world wars; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. Boyson

[pursuant to his reply, 10 February 1984, c. 825]: Several ex-service organisations and a number of individuals have made representations about the apparent difference of treatment between pre and post-1973 service widows. Under the scheme administered by the Department the same rates of pension are paid regardless of the conflict. There are no plans to change this. Questions relating to the armed forces pension scheme are for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence.
