§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he will be in a position to discuss the arrangements for the use of the new 10-cell block at Peterhead prison with the representatives of the Scottish Prison Officers' Association; and when he anticipates that this unit will be brought into use.
§ Mr. AncramWe are in a position now to discuss with the Governor of Peterhead prison and the staff associations the arrangements for the use of the new 10-cell block at Peterhead prison and a meeting to do this will be held within the next two or three weeks. The unit is almost ready for occupation and will be brought into use as soon as the discussions have been concluded.
