HC Deb 16 February 1984 vol 54 c292W
Mr. Hill

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will now introduce legislation similar to that currently in force in Scotland to limit the practice of glue sniffing.

Mr. Mellor

I am advised that there is no legislation in force in Scotland specifically to limit glue sniffing. My right hon. and learned Friend is, however, currently considering the need for legislation in England and Wales in the light of recent conviction for the sale of kits for the purpose of glue-sniffing brought in Glasgow under the Scottish common law. He hopes to make an announcement shortly.
