Bennettasked the Prime Minister, in the light of the Government's plans to transfer resources of local education authorities further education budgets to the Manpower Services Commission funds, how many lecturers in further education colleges will have to be transferred from permanent posts to temporary ones.
§ The Prime MinisterIt is not possible to make detailed predictions of this kind. Local education authorities will continue to be responsible for the management of colleges of further education. The new funding arrangements described in Cmnd. 9135 will be one of a number of factors which LEAs will need to take into account in assessing staffing needs.
