HC Deb 16 February 1984 vol 54 c323W
Mr. Soames

asked the Minister for the Civil Service what is the estimated cost of the surveys being undertaken of the ethnic origin of non-industrial civil servants; and how many people are involved in this task.

Mr. Hayhoe

The estimated cost of the surveys is £100,000. Ten staff are involved in the central organisation of the surveys as part of their normal duties. Details of staff in the Departments participating in the survey are not available but it is expected that for the most part the work will have been carried out within the normal course of duties.
