HC Deb 16 February 1984 vol 54 c291W
Mr. Beith

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what payments were made to Dr. Alan Clift on his compulsory retirement as a Home Office forensic scientist; what pension or other benefit entitlements he retains from his employment at the Home Office; and whether he has suffered any financial or other penalty beyond that of compulsory early retirement in respect of the limited efficiency which was given as the reason for his retirement.

Mr. Brittan

It is not the practice to give details of an individual's superannuation entitlements. Dr. Clift received the superannuation benefits to which he was entitled under the provisions of the principal Civil Service pension scheme, and no financial or other penalty has been imposed on him beyond that of compulsory early retirement.
