HC Deb 15 February 1984 vol 54 c250W
Mr. John David Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what efforts his Department has made to attract the Nissan Corporation to the large car manufacturing plant, formerly occupied by De Lorean, at Dunmurry, Belfast.

Mr. Butler

The Industrial Development Board for Northern Ireland has drawn to the attention of the Department of Trade and Industry the availability of the De Lorean plant. However, Nissan requires an 800-acre green field site for its United Kingdom factory. The De Lorean plant at Dunmurry does not meet this specification.
