§ Mr. WaldegraveIn the national museums and galleries for which my noble Friend the Minister for the Arts is responsible, there are four oil paintings by John Constable not on display to the public but which may be seen by appointment. These form only a small proportion of the total number of paintings by Constable which are in the possession of the national institutions.
