asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he has any further plans to visit the Greenham common base.

I refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Edinburgh, East (Mr. Strang) yesterday.

My right hon. Friend has no plans for a further visit in the immediate future.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what reports he has had recently regarding security at Greenham common airbase; and if he will make a statement.

I cannot add to the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Berkshire, East (Mr. MacKay) on 17 January, at c. 152–53.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many United States military personnel are based at Greenham common.

Mr. Stanley

There are currently about 1,500 US military personnel based at RAF Greenham common.
