§ Mr. BrookeThe Department reimburses the local education authorities 90 per cent. of their total expenditure on mandatory awards each year: it does not make separate payments in respect of individual components of the grant. LEA expenditure on mandatory awards represents the awards entitlement of students, including any excess travelling expenses claimed after account has been taken of assessed parental contributions.
