HC Deb 13 February 1984 vol 54 c41W
Mr. Jim Callaghan

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many teacher graduates who completed their studies in 1983 are still registered as unemployed.

Mr. Dunn

Information is not available in the form requested. Surveys were carried out in the Autumn of 1983 of teachers who had successfully completed courses of initial training in England and Wales last year. It is estimated that some 1,500 were unemployed and still seeking teaching posts in October 1983.
