HC Deb 13 February 1984 vol 54 cc24-5W
21. Mr. Harvey

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how much is being spent on personal social services in Wales in the current year compared with 1978–79; and if he will make a statement on policy priorities.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

Revenue spending by county councils in Wales on the personal social services amounted to £59 million in 1978–79. They have estimated that spending will exceed £112 million in the current year; this would represent a growth of 8.4 per cent. after allowance for pay and price changes.

My right hon. Friend's priorities for the personal social services were set out recently in Welsh Office circular 10/84.
