HC Deb 13 February 1984 vol 54 c15W
Mr. Campbell-Savours

asked the Prime Minister what consideration she gives to family interests when assessing whether Ministers' private interests conflict with their public duties.

The Prime Minister

I have nothing to add to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Wrexham (Dr. Marek) on 23 January 1984 at c.380.

Mr. Campbell-Savours

asked the Prime Minister whether she takes into account the principles set out in the recommendations of the Select Committee on Members' Interests in December 1974 when deciding whether a conflict arises between a Minister's private interests and public duties.

The Prime Minister

The report to which the hon. Gentleman refers relates to the declaration of Members' interests to the House and the establishment of a register of members' interests. The conduct of Ministers is governed by the guidance to which I referred in my replies to the hon. Gentleman the Member for Hackney, South and Shoreditch (Mr. Sedgemore) on 18 January 1984.
