§ Mr. GummerOccupational data on unfair dismissal complaints are collected only on a 10 per cent. sample basis. Because the number of complaints of unfair dismissal on grounds of trade union membership or activities is small, as I indicated in my reply to the hon. Member on 1 November 1983—[Vol. 47, c.319]—an occupational analysis on such a sample basis would not have any statistical validity.
