§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what was the number and value of offers of regional assistance made to firms in the Wolverhampton travel-to-work area for the last month for which statistics are available; and if he will give details of all Wolverhampton firms benefiting under the Industrial Development Act 1982.
§ Mr. Trippier[pursuant to his reply, 8 February 1984, c. 597]: The Wolverhampton travel-to-work area is not in an assisted area for the purposes of the Industrial Development Act 1982 and theefore does not qualify for regional assistance. However, under section 8 of the Industrial Development Act 1982 the following assistance has been offered to firms in the Wolverhampton travel-to-work area between may 1979 and November 1983:
