§ Mr. Chris Smithasked the Prime Minister if she will list in the Official Report the British companies on whose behalf she has made representations to foreign Governments whilst travelling abroad during the past three years, and to which Governments these representations were made in each case.
§ The Prime MinisterI seize every opportunity, whether I am abroad or at home, to support British firms competing for cantracts overseas, either by backing Britain's capability generally, or where only one British company is in the running, by supporting that company. Many examples could be given but it would be impracticable, and in many cases inconsistent with commercial confidence, to publish a list of all the companies concerned.
