§ Mr. WaldegraveThis will depend on the way in which the controls proposed in the White Paper will operate; We shall consider this in the light of the responses to those proposals. However, staff requirements will be met from within departments' planned allocations.

§ 63. Mr. Nellistasked the Secretary of State for the Environment, pursuant to the reply to the hon. Member for Coventry, South-East on 16 January, Official Report, c. 87, if he will give a target date for production of estimates for the savings accruing from abolishing the metropolitan county councils and the Greater London council.
§ Mr. WaldegraveNo. I have not yet considered the responses to the proposals; and I cannot predict when the district and borough councils will take final decisions on how they will carry out their new responsibilities.
§ Dr. Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will place in the Library a list of all organisations and individuals responding to his White Paper, Cmnd. 9063, and a copy of each submission made by the end of the consultation period on 31 January.
