HC Deb 08 February 1984 vol 53 cc611-2W
Mr. Baldry

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many persons were placed in employment by the jobcentres in the Banbury travel-to-work area for the last six months for which statistics are available.

Mr. Peter Morrison

Banbury jobcentre, which serves the Banbury travel-to-work area, placed 991 people into work in the six months ending 6 January 1984.

There is likely to have been a substantial number of people who found jobs in the area other than through the jobcentre. Nationally, it is estimated that about a quarter of all engagements are made through jobcentres.
