38. Mr. Bruce

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what measures he proposes to introduce to reduce sulphur emissions into the atmosphere and hence the incidence of acid rain.

Mr. Waldegrave

Some limited controls already exist to reduce sulphur emissions to the atmosphere, but the Government have no plans at present for further specific measures.

58. Mr. Kirkwood

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to receive the Nature Conservancy Council's report on the effect of acid rain.
