asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what additional funds will be given to Kings district health authority in consequence of the recommendations of the Acheson report.

The additional funds for Camberwell health authority (formerly Kings district of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham area health authority) are as Follows:—

  1. a. £74,000 over the three years 1982–83 to 1984–85 to support the training of additional health visitors and district nurses;
  2. b. a share, the amount to be determined by the regional health authority, of £64,000 provided this year to the South-East Thames regional health authority for primary health care projects in inner-city districts. Further allocations for this purpose will be made available for the next two years, although the precise amounts have not yet been determined.

In addition, general medical practitioners serving patients in Camberwell health authority will be eligible for enhanced improvement grants and new incentives to group practice in inner cities, at a total national cost over the period 1983–84 to 1986–87 of £3.2 million.
