HL Deb 07 February 1984 vol 447 c1134WA
Lord Melchett

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will list those agricultural commodities for which they have evidence that it was possible for them to be marketed at competitive prices in the latest year for which information is available.

The Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Lord Belstead)

The prices at which farmers can profitably market agricultural commodities depend on their production costs, which vary with individual circumstances. It is not possible, therefore, to provide a list of the kind requested.
