asked the Secretary of State for Wales on what basis the Welsh Office is informing those wishing to buy their council houses that they may be entitled to a 60 per cent. discount before the Housing and Building Control Bill reaches the statute book.

An amendment made on 7 July 1983 to the general ministerial consents for the disposal of houses increases to 60 per cent. the maximum discount local authorities may grant on voluntary sales of tenanted dwellings.
