HC Deb 06 February 1984 vol 53 c507W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many elderly people are waiting for the following operations or treatment: cataracts, hernias, hip replacement and hearing aid fittings.

Mr. John Patten

Information is not collected centrally on the number of patients waiting for particular operations, or on their ages. Information about patients attending hearing aid centres was given in my hon. Friend's reply to the hon. Member for Denton and Reddish (Mr. Bennett) on 31 October 1983—[Vol. 47, c.291]—but is also not broken down by age.
