HC Deb 06 February 1984 vol 53 cc491-2W
Mrs. Rumbold

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what discussions he has had concerning the provision of legal aid for those employees in the public sector who do not belong to an official trade union.

Mr. King

I have had no discussions about provision of legal aid which is the responsibility of my noble Friend the Lord Chancellor. I am informed by the Lord Chancellor that legal aid is available to all employees in the public sector, whether or not they belong to a trade union, on exactly the same terms and conditions as it is available to any other private citizen.
