HC Deb 02 February 1984 vol 53 cc284-5W
Mr. Foster

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many of the managing companies involved in the youth training scheme have been inspected for suitability by the Manpower Services Commission; and of those how many have been found unsatisfactory.

Mr. Peter Morrison

I shall reply to the hon. Member as soon, as possible.

Mr. Lawler

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many participants under mode B of the youth training scheme in Bradford and Great Britain have already been offered full-time employment.

Mr. Peter Morrison

The information requested is not yet available. Whilst the Youth Training Scheme can offer no guarantee of employment on completion of training, it will enhance the employment prospects of young people by better equipping them to meet the demands of the labour market.

Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many youth training scheme entrants have left the scheme (a) to take up other employment or training and (b) for other reasons.

Mr. Peter Morrison

Information on the numbers of young people who have left individual Youth Training Scheme Programmes to go into jobs or into other Youth Training Scheme Programmes, or left for other reasons is not available. But overall 46,000 young people had left individual programmes by 31 December 1983.
