Mr. Terry Davis

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many redundancies have arisen as a result of the refusal of the Manpower Services Commission to provide funds for Rotary "Brass Tacks" (Aston) Ltd. from January.

Employees on projects funded under the community programme, or its predecessor the community enterprise programme, are generally employed for a maximum of 12 months. When funding of Rotary "Brass Tacks" (Aston) under these programmes ceased on 27 January, seven employees lost their temporary jobs.
