asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will estimate the extent of heart disease per million of the population in (a) England and (b) the area covered by the South-East Thames regional health authority.

[pursuant to his reply, 24 January 1984, c. 549.] The estimated NHS hospital discharge rates

per million for heart diseases in England and in the South-East Thames region in 1981 were 5,920 and 6,250 respectively and not 0.592 and 0.625 as printed.
