asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much butter, meat, wine and other consumer foods the European Community sold to the Soviet Union during 1983 and at what price; and what were the losses to the European Economic Community.

The best available further information is in the following table. In the first six months of 1983, the most significant exports were 1.7 million tonnes of wheat at an average value of 144 ecu/tonne, 475,000 tonnes of refined sugar at an average of 289 ecu/tonne and 68,000 tonnes of beef and veal at an average of 1,541 ecu/ tonne.
