§ 47. Mr. Alexanderasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he has any plans to introduce legislation to relieve domestic ratepayers of the obligation to pay drainage rates charged by internal drainage boards which are paid in addition to the element of land drainage included in domestic water rates.
§ Mrs. FennerAn interdepartmental committee has reviewed all aspects of land drainage adminstration and finance, including an examination of international drainage boards and drainage rating. We are considering the committee's report along with our colleagues and a consultation document will be prepared and issued later in the year. In the meantime we have no plans to introduce any land drainage legislation.
