HC Deb 02 February 1984 vol 53 c298W
Mr. Kenneth Carlisle

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry by how much his Department's miscellaneous support services Vote cash limit will be increased in 1983–84.

Mr. Tebbit

Subject to Parliament's approval of the necessary Supplementary Estimate, the cash limit for Class IV, Vote 2—miscellaneous support services—is to be increased by £3 million from £31,842,000 to £34,842,000. The increase in expenditure is to cover the new initiatives by the English Industrial Estates Corporation outside the assisted areas which were announced in 1983. This additional expenditure will be contained within the Department of Trade and Industry's existing total provision. There will be no increase in public expenditure.
