§ Mr. Maddenasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what applications have been received from schools for additional funding to meet the costs of identifying and dealing with asbestos in schools.
§ Mr. DunnA general approach was received from the ILEA last year, and shortly thereafter the question of asbestos was raised with my right hon. Friend by representatives of the local education authorities collectively. The information from the local authority associations referred to in my reply to the hon. Member of 22 November 1983 — [Vol. 49, c.109] — is still awaited.
